Cattail Creek Shelter

Community planning

A Place to Gather

project summary:

The outdoors are calling, and in this subdivision the HOA was in need of a gathering place to be located in the main central park of the subdivision. The 1 square block park is lively with kids, and play equipment, however the need to allow for family gatherings and picnics in the park is something that was originally planned, but halted by the great recession as it took its toll on the subdivision. This shelter represents the sustained efforts of the community, and connects the residents to the outdoors with the park directly, and great expansive views to the bridger mountains.  Working with large communities interests is important in delivering these types of project, Plum Architecture held a handful of workshops with the HOA and the residents to develop possible ideas. The result is a fun modern outdoor product that serves function and beauty for the community.
